From the Midwest to the Big Apple

Being from the Midwest, New York comes as a culture shock. The people, the food, the atmosphere is all so different, but somehow I have managed to fall in love all the same. Being from a small town in Lansing, naturally I was looking for something bigger.

I have completely fallen in love with everything about this place. I love that you can always find things to do and that there is never a dull moment here. New York is a city where you are constantly learning and there are free lectures and talks that happen just about every day that offer a wealth of knowledge to any one who wants to listen.

One of the coolest and most unique things about this city is that you meet so many great people. Hardly anyone you meet is actually from New York so everyone here is in the same boat. This city is made up of people that come from all over and everyone is looking to get to know more people. This came as such a shock to me, but at the same time it was comforting to know that I am not an outsider because everyone here is.
